The active component, hypochlorous acid (HOCL), is generated from a simple saline solution (water, sodium chloride, and electrolysis) and is chemically identical to the oxidizing agent produced by neutrophils during the innate immune response. HOCL exerts its antimicrobial effect through rapid oxidative disruption of microbial cell membranes, proteins, and nucleic acids, resulting in efficient inactivation of a wide range of oral pathogens.
When introduced into an oral irrigator reservoir, the HOCL solution is delivered throughout interproximal, subgingival, and hard-to-access anatomical sites, supporting both mechanical flushing and chemical reduction of microbial load. This dual-action approach enhances disruption of plaque biofilm and improves access to periodontal niches that are difficult to manage with brushing and flossing alone.
